Partnerships

The Cane River Green Market community has a growing and close relationship with local restaurant chefs and local food producers. Since both value freshness, quality, hard work, and innovation, the Green Market makes it their goal to combine and include both areas of the food industry in the Market.

Today, local restaurant chefs seek out and use products from many of our Market’s vendors. The Market features a local chef every month to perform and deliver a delightful breakfast that is local and made with the freshest ingredients. Mariner’s Restaurant chef Jeremy Smith , Janet Lacour of Mom’s and Daughter’s Kitchen, and organic chef Oona Zbitkovskis have been featured at the Cane River Green Market on Saturday mornings.

This is just a quick look of the friendships that have been formed at the Green Market. As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on our local and regional informers to make an appearance at the Market in order to convey interest in our community’s many delightful events such as the Christmas Festival, Folklife Festival, and Plantation tours.
