 The Cane River Green Market was founded in 1999. The Cane River Green Market’s vision has remained the same - to encourage a sustainable future. At the Cane River Green Market, we are hoping to change the way we think about the relationships between our food supply, the environment and our bodies. The Cane River Green Market is managed by the Natchitoches Main Street Program which falls under the City of Natchitoches Department of Programming and Promotions.
The Cane River Green Market Jury Committee consists of community leaders and market patrons with a vested interest in the market's success. The committee meets each season to review all Green Market applications. The committee assists in site visits, vendor follow ups and recruitment. They also meet as needed to discuss upcoming events and the future of the Green Market. If you are interested in participating on this committee, please contact the Main Street Office.
