Cane River Green Market, Natchitoches’ local farmers market, will continue its 2009 season on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the downtown riverbank.

Live musical entertainment will be provided by the “Lukejazz Trio” from 10 a.m. to noon. 

The Cane River Green Market will honor mothers with free fresh flowers while supplies last. Market patrons can also pick up free recipes for the fresh produce found at the market. Children can participate in Mother’s Day craft activities. 

A Mother’s Day basket will also be raffled off that day. Items include a free haircut and style from Bedazzled, a 2 week membership at Curves, a candle from Merci Beaucoup Gift Shop, an item from The Hall Tree, hand wash and lotion from Choate’s, a diffuser and relaxation CD from Nellanne’s Hallmark, Sunday brunch for 2 at The Landing and Wind & Willow mixes from Dickens and Co. Gift Shop. 

Find the perfect Mother’s Day gift at the Green Market. Vendors will have handmade items such as woodwork, furniture, jewelry, bird houses and feeders, one of a kind art work and more.

This week vendors will have mustard greens, squash, sugar snaps, onions, potatoes and much more!
