On Saturday May 23, the Market will celebrate Children’s Day with a variety of activities. Kids will be able to fly kites, blow bubbles, play a game of horseshoes, try their luck at the bean bag toss or bring out their artistic side with sidewalk chalk. Children’s performers Monty and Marsha Brown will also be onsite from 10 a.m. to noon with musical instruments for children to sing and play along with. The Natchitoches Parish Library Bookmobile will also be present. A series of healthy cooking demonstrations by Sarah Prud'homme and Jennifer Wilson will begin this Saturday. This dynamic duo will provide you with nutritious and quick recipes the whole family will love. The demonstrations are supported by the Cane River National Heritage Area as part of its Healthy Living initiative. As a certified wellness educator and counselor, Wilson has dedicated her life to helping people lead happier, healthier lives through proper nutrition and exercise. Prud'homme directs the Natchitoches Galloway Runners and specializes in helping people of all ages, shapes, sizes and athletic abilities to achieve their overall fitness goals.
