Celebrate July 4 at the Green Market |

Cane River Green Market, Natchitoches’ local farmers market, will take place in conjunction with Celebration on the Cane, this Saturday, July from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the downtown riverbank. Extended hours at this Saturday’s market will allow patrons to participant in the many patriotic activities taking place on the downtown riverbank including children’s water activities, arts and crafts, face painting and a hotdog eating contest. A children’s patriotic parade will take place at 10 a.m. winding through the historic district and ending near the riverbank. Families can enjoy picnicking along Cane River and blankets will be available to do so. Customers can find watermelon slices, pies, fresh bread, lemonade, tamales, and much more to enjoy for lunch. Live entertainment by Beauregard’s Courtesy will take place at the market from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Detention Center Choir will perform from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Due to fireworks taking place on July 4, customers will not be able to park on the downtown riverbank. However, a shuttle will be provided for those who need assistance carrying products back to their vehicle.
