Join us Saturday, July 18 in welcoming Rene’s Crepes who specializes in “build your own” crepes. The crepes are made on cast iron griddles and you may watch as your crepe is created. The large crepes include meat, cheese and garnishes including black olives, mushrooms, onions, peppers, etc. The sweet crepes include fillings such as strawberry, blueberry, peach, apple, cream cheese, Belgium, chocolate and many more. Fresh fruit fillings are also available. Demonstrations will include fruits and vegetables from Green Market vendors. Come to the market hungry this Saturday and bring your pocket book. There is no better way to beat the heat than with some cool, refreshing summer treats. Make sure to drop by the "Cooking Light" tent this Saturday to cool off with some energizing green iced tea and a light grilled chicken salad. Prepared in minutes, these healthy and delicious snacks are perfect for summer barbecues and pool parties. Recipes and nutrition information will be provided. Complimentary “Louisiana Cooking” magazines will also be available for Cane River Green Market patrons. This issue features an article on Louisiana honey. Make sure you visit Vincent Bown this Saturday for some wonderful honey products. The 2009 Cane River Green Market season is coming to an end. July 25 will be the last market for our regular season and will be celebrated with a variety of activities. Special fall markets will take place in October.
